Meet Rubeus… And Dog-Themed Books

I have been a lazy blogger for the last two months. I have no excuse. Ok, well, actually I have two excuses…

First off, I started a new job and it’s just harder to slack off and read (or write blog posts) in an open plan office. Consequently, I’m in a bit of a reading slump. It’s annoying, and I need to sort it out because, let’s face it, books are life…

And, secondly, this weekend I got a new puppy. I defy anyone to do anything at all with an 8-week old puppy racing around their house like a mad thing!

Meet Rubeus…

Rubeus is an 8-week old Labrador-Lurcher cross, and pretty much the most adorable thing ever. Not to mention, a big fan of books (of course he is, he’s my puppy). Mostly eating them, but still… And, yes, he does have a book-themed name. Of course. Would you expect anything less?

The Big News

As well as getting back on the book review wagon… I’ve decided I’m going to change the nature of this blog (just ever so slightly) to include my co-conspirator: Rubeus!

So, from now on, expect:

  • A puppy diary
  • A new rating system to refect Rubeus’ views on the deliciousness of the books I’m reading (I’m calling it “But what did Rubeus think?”)
  • As well as, obviously, lots of adorable photos of Rubeus with my books!

I decided I would start by listing my top 5 favourite books (or the first five that spring to mind) which include a strong canine lead… (terrible pun intentional). And none of them, spoiler alert, is Marley & Me because, I’m sorry, but no. Depressing!
