Top Ten Tuesday is hosted over @That Artsy Reader Girl. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Characters I’d Like to Switch Places With
There are way too many to count for this list… But off the top of my head:
Chloe Lyons, Chocolate Wishes
What a fantastic idea for a business, I love her whole family, the village she lives in, and she marries the delectable Raffy… Nuff said!
Annie Hawes, Extra Virgin
She just has an amazing life… And I want it!
Ye. This one requires no explanation!
Kinsey Millhone, The Alphabet Series
She’s so badass… And she lives next door to Henry, kicking ass and solving crime… I want her life!
Lyra, His Dark Materials
She just has the best, most adventurous life! And she gets to visit such cool places… Love the whole worldbuilding in the series.
Irene, The Invisible Library series
A librarian of mystery, roaming the multiverse? Ye, I want to be her…
Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat Pray Love
I love her journey in this book! I know it’s at least partly fictionalised, and everything didn’t work out quite so peachy in real life… But, in this book, at least, I wanted to switch lives with her!
All the heroines in Jane Austen books
I love her books, her heroines, and the whole idea of living in Victorian high society.
Kell, A Darker Shade of Magic
This was on someone else’s list last week, and I was kicking myself for not picking it! I know he has his share of harrowing experiences, but I’d love to visit those worlds and be able to hop back and forth!
Emmeline, Dear Mrs Bird
I have a bit of a soft spot for WWII London, I think it really brought out the best in people in an incredibly difficult time, and it’s a fascinating era of history – plus Emmeline has such a cool life (though she doesn’t realise it).
What book character would you swop lives with for a day, if you could?
