April Book Haul!

I haven’t done a book haul post in a while! Last month, I bought a lot of non-fiction for my zero-waste challenge, so there wasn’t much of a haul to shout about. Did I do one in February? I can’t remember… Anyway, I went on a bit of a book-buying binge the last few days and my current TBR is looking pretty good!

Leftover from Last Month

I read about a quarter of Redwall, and I’m just not into it… Setting aside the issue of mice having a war with rats – let’s not even get into that… I just don’t buy that Matthias goes from being super awkward, bumbling along, to a great warrior in the space of a paragraph. But I have to read it for my Book Dragon Challenge. So, for once, I’m going to have to force myself to finish a book!

The Priory of the Orange Tree

This book is a beast! I’m about halfway through, but I’m not super into The Priory so far. I liked it at the beginning – but now I’m kind of bored! I really want to finish it though, so it hasn’t been retired yet!

The Apprentice

I read The Surgeon last month, and I really enjoyed it. So I headed straight out to get the second book in the Rizzoli & Isles series, The Apprentice. Unfortunately, I carried on watching the TV show… And now I just don’t feel like reading the book… You can have too much Rizzoli and Isles. To be honest, I think I like the TV show better anyway!

The Raven Tower

I haven’t gotten around to reading The Raven Tower yet, but the premise is exciting. Mood readers… We’re the worst!

Most Excited For…

East of Croydon

I love Sue Perkins, she’s so funny, and travelogues are one of my favourite genres. I’m sure East of Croydon is going to be great.

I’ve heard such good things about Vicious, and I’m finally getting around to reading it!

Miss Silver Intervenes

My grandmother and I share a love for Agatha Christie novels, and she recommended I read Patricia Wentworth’s Miss Silver books. They sound like exactly the kind of mystery I enjoy, so I’m excited to give them a go!

Least Excited For…

They Found Him Dead

I find Georgette Heyer a bit hit-and-miss, so I’m not sure if I’m going to like They Found Him Dead

Have you read any of the books on my TBR? Where should I start?!

  1. Redwall does get better. It’s also a series so alot of the backstory on some of the characters comes later. I almost read the whole series but there are just too many books and I got over it before I finished.
