I saw a wonderful post over @Blogger Books, all about the questions you wish you could ask other, more experienced book bloggers. Mim Inkling has been going for nearly 18-months, so, in many ways, I’m still a newbie to the bookish blogging world. While I think I’ve managed to figure most things out I do, as it happens, still have some questions…
I thought it would be fun to do this as a tag! So, if you’re tagged… You’re it! I want to see your answers, and I’d love to know what questions you have for other book bloggers! If you’re not tagged… Well, I still want to know – so consider yourself tagged!
Why did you decide to start a book blog, and what do you get out of it?
None of us are doing this for the money (as far as I know), so what made you start and what keeps you going?
I started Mim Inkling because I wanted to tell someone, anyone, about the books I was reading. I wanted to talk to other people about books. That’s pretty much the same thing that keeps me going! I also feel like I’ve become part of a bookish community, and I love finding out what my favourite book bloggers have been reading and what they’ll do next. I get a lot of great recommendations for books, so I’m rarely stuck for something to read now. And I have a lot of fun with my blog, which keeps me turning up every day or every week.
How do you keep up with reading all the posts? Do you keep up with it?
I love reading other book bloggers posts and reviews, but I constantly feel slightly guilty because I know I miss things. I don’t have the time to devote to scrolling the reader every day. If someone comments or likes one of my posts, I make sure I go and check out their blog in return. I try and make an hour or so a week to scroll the reader and visit some of my favourite blogs, find new people to read. Still, I’m always behind!
Do you have a favourite review you’ve written?
For me, it’s my very first review. It may not have been the best, whatever that means, but it has a sort of nostalgic value for me.
